I Am Bound For My Home Town

Lyrics

Yes, I am bound for my hometown.
Oh, I can hear the church bells chime.
I am bound for my hometown.
Momma, I can taste your apple pie.

I’ve traveled for so many miles. I’ve been the world around.
From the tallest, crowded city to the tiniest of towns.
But there is just one place where I don’t feel so all alone.
That’s because that is the place I call my home.

Hotel rooms and cigar fumes and a suitcase full of clothes.
My pants are full of wrinkles and my socks are filled with holes.
I’m sure I used to think the road was where I should have been.
But it’s so hard to remember way back then.

Someday I’ll throw all these dusty suitcases away.
Sit down on my ol’ front porch and I’ll be home to stay.
But there’s still lots of work to do and lots of bills to pay.
So it looks like I’ll be headed out today.
